No sorry, not spoken to Simon in a couple weeks or so. Not spoken to David in a while either, but I believe he's still a bit busy with other things.

I thought TTF/OTF fonts worked ok in 4.2.5?

In regards to documentation... there's not much point in doing any until the new GUI editor comes out. Anything you do based on the current editor will pretty much be a waste of time as it would need to be redone again.

There are no spaces between characters, it looks like this: wobekommeichdenrichtigenSchraubenschlüsselfürdieMaschine? And the line space is very big, it seems like three empty lines between each text line...

@machtnix: what are your settings for the font regarding spaces between characters and lines?
  • #79, by bananeisafree 10 years ago Zitieren
basicly what happens with the line spacing is this :
for each "display txt" entry, the first return will create a bigger line spacing than the following ones.
I've teste and reproduced the bug with the following setups :

    • manual return in the middle of a sentance
    • automatic return due to textbox widht
    • starting with a return to have the same line spacing for the rest of the text (what it does is place your first line very low)
    • return after a < p > (the second text part will be lower, the one following will be at the good place)

at the moment the only way I found to tottaly bypass the problem is to set your line spacing to a ludicrous negative level (-70 for my font and resolution) and never create entry with more than 2 lines. (basicly creating new "display txt" every two lines of text. It works, but unless you make a game with little text, I would reccomand just to stick to a .png fine ... cause it gets old very quickly :p .

I really hope this will be adressed in the next update, cause at the moment it makes ttf fonts not usable for me.

The best workarount would be to use a bitmapfont which looks like your TTF and use it instead of tricking the engine with negative spaces.
What font did you use (name). I could test out some things if you like (im not a dev or anything, just trying to help and analyze the issue)
