Release date for 4.3?

The toolbar is placed at the top now. This way we can save some place.
If you have a widescreen, then it seems better to avoid all horizontal bars, toolbars and so on. Using vertical toolbars is profitable in some cases I think.

they have this horizontal bar anyway... so why not using it?  smile

There will be also a simple way to work with Steam achievements in this new release?

Hmm? As far as I know you just need to include the dll thing & then use the steam functions listed on the wiki to check & update steam achievements. It doesn't seem all that complicated, but maybe we could sort out a step by step guide at some point unless someone that's already released a game on Steam already that contains achievements would like to provide a quick summary of what they had to do?

A step by step guide will be great mate if someone could do it. My game will be on steam store before summer and have many steam achievements and I realy dont know how to do itsmile

I can only think of 2 people on here that have released games with achievements (besides Daedalic) & that would be Joemcr & Chris (STASIS). Maybe Joe might be able to help you if you send him a message. Failing that I'm sure SimonS will be able to provide you with a step by step when he gets a minute. I've not had to deal with Steam stuff myself yet, so I'm afraid I can't be any more helpful at the minute.

seems that VS will directly release version 5 if I interpret the news for Oak Island correctly...

It says it should be free for 4.x license holders, so I guess it doesn't really matter if it's version 4.3 or 5.0. It's been just over a year now since 4.2.5 was released - long time. I just hope that smaller bug updates are focused on after the release rather than new features first as it would be the smarter play.

Let's hope they can find some additional devs to help take the workload off of Simon's plate too as he's probably starting to feel like one of those Stretch Armstrong dolls. grin

Yes, it's Visionaire Studio 5, because of all the essential changes we've made. I think it makes sense to start with a "fresh" new version number.

And yes, more regular and maybe automatic updates are what we are heading for. smile

    4 questions :

    1) Does HTML5 port supported WebGL too ?

    2) VS 4 projects is compatible with VS 5 ?

    3) Is Lua script editor intelligent auto complete as typing ?

    4) Is any hope for release before christmas ?  (or maybe beta vrsion)

    1. no idea.

    2. all updates are always back compatible with older ved files.

    3. Simon told me a little while ago that auto-complete won't be in the update - it's a feature I really want as well as it's something I use a lot when I write Lua scripts &/or make edits to webpages.

    4. who knows? grin

I hope simple things like syntax highlighting and a changeable font is possible now. I use monospace fonts usually for programming tasks....

PS: I believe the Scintilla-Gadget supports Autocompletion:
