Workspace outside background screen

How I can realize a walk-in or a walk-out of a character? The workspace for waypoints and walk areas seems limited to the size of the background screen. Why there is no additional workspace around the backround graphic? This could be an optional thing (turn on = size in pixels or off in settings). This would also be useful to catch outside shifted points (by mistake). At the moment these outside shifted points are not reachable.

    Example:

You can drag the viewport around by holding down the middle mouse button & dragging. This will let you access outside of the left / top sides of the background. Unfortunately there's currently no keyboard shortcut available so a mouse with a middle mouse button / wheel is required to do this.

P.S: the coordinates are fixed to the background itself with 0,0 being the top left pixel of the background image.

This is a big problem on my MacBook Pro with Trackpad. Any solution for that?

Can you modify the buttons / gestures for your trackpad? My usb mouse broke a little while ago & my laptops touchpad doesn't have a middle mouse button, but it had various options for changing what the buttons & gestures did so I set 3 finger tap to be right click & then I set the right button to be the middle mouse button.

Alternatively just buy a cheap usb mouse. Most electronic stores like Media Markt for instance has them from about €5 upwards & as far as I'm aware most usb keyboards & mice are compatible with mac too, no?
