Use item with itself?

I am not sure why this is allowed in Visionaire. I can not imagine that it is useful. But how I suppress that? If I hold an item in my hand to use it with an other item (or room object) it should no longer be selectable in the inventory slots. How can I do that?

Oh, the edit function was removed? I forgot to ask how I can change the mouse cursor to that item I hold in my hand.

I think this might work with a lua script. But I am no scripting expert :/

I think this should be the standard procedure! Why I should use an item with itself?! Who needs this?

I think an item should only have ONE place. In the inventory (slot) or "in the hand" (use with) of the player!

I agree, I can't imagine a situation where this would be useful. But you never know... If you say that nobody would use an item with itself, why don't just keeping it like that? It doesn't really bother, doesn't it?

It bothers me because it's always present. Every time I click with a combine action on an item in my inventory I can read (immediately) in my command line things like "Use key to the chest with key to the chest" or "Use green lantern with green lantern". If I use a combine function I expect to see an "with" at the end of the command line as long as I do not move the mouse. That "with" at the end of the command line implies to the player: "Now, its your turn. Move the mouse to any object!". That is more an usability (look and feel) problem in my eyes.

i think this should be a new feature in an upcoming update of Visionaire. Sure i can do this with an emense amount of lua but as this seems to be some kind of neccessary standard it would be cool to choose this in the game options.
