We do recommend using the TTF text option now, as it does save a lot of time in regards to setting up your fonts, plus you can easily customize colors & size of TTF fonts as well as apply borders & text-shadow to them.

Image font maps can be very time consuming as you need to create a new one for each color, size etc, as well as define the characters in the font map. There is also the possibility that your font map may not display/work as intended depending on the style of the font.

I have tried it but I had no success. Have you an working example for me? Or could it be a bug on Mac OS?

There are a lot of bugs in the mac version of the editor. A lot more than the windows editor & mostly due to WxWidgets. One of the main reasons why Simon is working on developing/coding a custom GUI for the editor as half of the bugs are to do with WxWidgets, which is what VS is currently using for the forms, buttons, checkboxes, radials, sliders & so on. It's actually quite limited in its own way.
