Sound problem (game crashed)

  • #1, by lyraWednesday, 24. August 2016, 18:35 4 years ago
I'm doing an action area, that when the character enters into it, changes the sound of footsteps.
At the two or three time the character go over, the game crashes.
I prove this two or three times, and crashed all times. But the last time, the program visionaire also closed, and an error pop up (I post the text error below).
Some idea about why the game crashed, how to put the sound correctly? u.u
    Thanks

All the action area does is change the sound of the footsteps? Nothing more?

I know action areas are a little bit iffy (in the editor) but I think they should be ok during runtime. The footstep sound files all exist in the paths you specified for them?

P.S: none of us here really speak Spanish (well I do a little as I live in Spain) but rest of team are actually German & there's only Simon available, so I have no idea if he will be able to make head or tails of the log message you posted.

Yes, the action area only change the footsteps of the principal character, nothing more (capture below)
If I export the game crashes too.
And yes, the sound files are in their places. The change of the sounds works fine, but at the three or four time I step above (in and out, in and out, ...) crash.

after googling around I saw some games which have nearly the same error. All the people had problems with crashing after an Update of a game. All people used nvidia gpus...

do you have an nvidia graphic card?
try to reinstall your (recent) driver with "clean installation" checked. maybe this helps...

10+ years in Granada region & past 2 years in Almería. I have really bad memory for languages & for some reason I can often generally understand what someone is saying, even if I only know a few of the words they said in a sentence, but the problem for me is translating in real time, as even if I know exactly what I'm wanting to reply with it usually comes out completely wrong.

Reading / writing in another language is a lot easier as you can take your time & consult a translator if need be.

Both my brother & 2 sisters speak Spanish fluently, but they were quite young in comparison to me when we moved to Spain & thus they went to school & learned Spanish from both school & from friends they made, whereas the Spanish I learned was from places I worked at, meaning most of what I learned was work related & less conversation oriented. I also struggle with all the grammar & when to use the feminine/neutral/masculine versions of words - Almost everything in the English language falls under neutral.

In regards to the bug: strange! Quite a few people have issues with Nvidia cards & memory leaks when using VS. Hopefully that will no longer be an issue when Simon finishes sorting out the new editor.

PS. So interesting! ^^ About the gender of the words, It happens to me backwards, it's more easy XD I encourage you to improve your Spanish wink

Im curious if this crash also happens, when you remove the "change walking sound" action parts. So only the actionarea with enter/leave actions remain with nothing in it. If it still crashes the problem is definitively the actionpart or something related to it (the sound itself maybe?)

Shouldn't be an issue with the AMD cards. Sounds like something is corrupted in the action area section or action areas are just buggy, they are in the editor at least.

I tried to remove the change footsteps and put a condition that show and hidden an image, and no crash.
    It's the audio.
What can happen to the audio?
