Patreon / Free game licence

I have a question about licence.
My idea is to create game that would be FREE and would never charge or sell game anywhere. However i would also like to try to get some fundings from Patreons.com. to help me develop my game.
I read about licences and all is clear when it comes to Kickstarter and others after you develop game and publish it. But i never saw anyone posing what about FREE games that we would still need some funding support.
Note: I would make monthly or so updates to game for patreons (for example) and as soon as new update is up for patreons older version would be free to download for anyone.
So here is my simple question.
Can we use patreon.com for funding our games in Visionaire studio even the final product/game will be FREE for all and do we have to buy different licence or Indie (single user) is sufficient?

It's unlikely you will make much money from Patreon unless you're Jim Sterling or some other popular youtube content creator or musician. I think indie license will be enough. Patreon is somewhat vague in what the funding is for because it can be for anything & everything unlike Kickstarter which is an all or nothing one time fund raising campaign for a single project. I use Patreon myself, but I don't make much with it, but that's ok - imagine though if everyone I provided support for on here gave me a dollar or so per month... :shakeshark:

    Thank you for clarification smile
Yea i know that probably i won't earn much there but would be nice to try and save some $$ and maybe some day in future hire some voice actors for my game.

Just wanting to let you know I'm interested in speaking a character in your game. I'm also not expensive, because I am not a professional, although I am very confident about my voice and love to act. I have a relatively young male voice that's not too deep.
If that day comes and you're interested, best write me a mail, I may not respond to activity on this website...

@Zweieck: Do you have some voice samples available? Probably there are many projects here who could need your support smile

Not at the moment, but some time ago I voiced the main character of a fun little project (that sadly only got its first chapter realized, sadly) in german. You can still have a look at it here: https://www.visionaire-studio.net/news/article/project-other...

I guess it's a good idea to have a database for voice actors here one day smile

I am thankful for your offer and in future i will consider contacting people for voice acting. I still need to do a lot in a game and since i just started my patreon page my budget is pretty low atm. But will have you in mind for future, aspecially when game comes near final version smile
