How to activate particle system?

  • #1, by fabian-schurgers Thursday, 28. May 2020, 09:35 6 years ago Quote
    Hi guys,

I'm working with the particle system, and I have a nice one all set up! Only, how
do I activate it in a room?

I have set my particle system as active in the room properties, and given it a proper location, but it doesn't appear....

    Best Regards,

    Fabian

You should set it to a scene object. Click on a scene object, then click on the components tab & assign it via that. The scene object will act like a parent, which means if you hide/show it with a condition or value that the linked particle system will also be shown/hidden - it also uses the same object center (z-index) as the scene object too.

Ah, little trouble here. When I click on a scene item, these are the tabs I have:

    Properties
    Effects
    Actions
    Animations
    Conditions
    Values
    Action
    Action Areas
    Character Size
    Preview.

I am unsure where I can find the particle system?
I can't seem to find it under Actions.

You still using 4.0.9? If so you can assign particles via the effects tab. If you are using 5.1.0, then you can assign particles via the components tab - right hand column of the scene viewport where conditions & values are located.
