Display text in vertical direction

is there a way to display text in vertical direction or do i have to use line breaks? can i set the font in a way that it displays vertically?

Linebreaks most likely. You could try enabling auto line break & setting a really small max line width value in the properties bit for the font you are wanting to draw vertically.
