Discord server launched for VS.

I have setup an official Discord server for fellow Visionaire Studio users to chew the fat (chat) with other fellow users.

Feel free to join the server here. If you haven't used Discord before then you will need to verify your account via an email they send you after setting up an account before you will be able to post in the server - minor anti-bot prevention.

I've added various text & voip channels. There's also self-assignable roles to do with region such as "EU, NA, etc", as well as self-assignable roles to do with game development, such as "Artist, Developer, Voice Actor, etc).

I've also added a bot that gives you a random amount of xp each time you post in any of the text channels. Once you reach rank 10, you will be assigned a role called "regular" which puts you in it's own class category & your username will turn green instead of the default grey. You get a few other perks too, like being able to add reactions to posts & use any emoticons from other servers you have joined - providing said server allows any of its emoticons to be used outside of their server.

P.S: this will not be a place for asking for help with problems to do with your game or the engine; that's what the forum is for!

 if this discord server will be "official" it would benefit if it gets mentioned on some further sites here beside the forum

(wiki, special page/navigation bar? , maybe add this widget somewhere, facebook/twitter post) 

I believe you can create widgets for it, but a link on footer of this website should probably suffice. Could also mention it on the wiki & provide a link on the Steam group.

I setup the twitter account (which is now the official EN account) & the steam group & I help setup the wiki with David (BigStans). I've not used facebook in years, but an account already exists for that.

Anyway, I setup a server, but need to sort out bots & motd, etc for the rooms. Only added mee6 bot so far, which is just being used to level people up, so once they reach a certain level they will become "regulars".

ez mate. Slack kind of sounds like (based on what I just glanced on the website) something like Asana or the new thing Thomas (Marvel) has created for planning & discussing projects. Discord is more of an IRC & alternative to Teamspeak/Skype due to low system requirements & bandwidth usage. Personally I use it to chat on EA server & for voip when I play multiplayer games with a couple of people from here - specifically Battlefield & Overwatch.

A bot rank/level has been added - basically when you get to level 10 (get points for posting in any of the text channels) you get assigned "regular" role & username turns to green. You will be able to add reactions & post emoji/emoticons from other servers you belong to - if emoticon is allowed to be posted to other servers.

Added a bot for assigning yourself specific roles such as region & game dev related roles. Information is in the #info channel.

Added various text & voice channels.
