It takes a lot of setting up in visionaire 4.2 and it doesn't work at all in visionaire 4.2.5.

But, it's has all been sorted in Visionaire Studio 5 - Coming Soon

I believe your 4.2 license will be valid for v5.

Nobody has seen the export for v5 yet, because the full version isn't yet released.
It sounds like it has been simplified though.

Simon posted an official confirmation yesterday that 4.x license will be valid for 5.x. wink

As for the release date... I've no idea, but from the sounds of things it should be ready for release over the next few weeks or month, but take that with a grain of salt; or two.

In my full version 5.0.0 1188 (29.4.2017 - is this the release date?) it is only possible to make a windows game (other platforms are signed as "not available"). Is this still correct?

BTW: making an Android game (from 4.2.5) and understanding how to do this is too much for me... I bang my head... Downloading an Android SDK with 2 GB and a Java SDK with 200 MB!... Whow!

But it would be nice to make a Linux game for testing.

AND: the game making menu has a lot of cryptical entries (eCharacters, eScenes, Video 3c vv, lang_.); I don't know which radio button I have to click and what that means. I prefer the simple German menu without miracles from 4.2.5... wink wink

You may need to re-register your version, maybe delete the viseditor.ini. The engine checks for the available players online, so you need an internet connection.
zipalign from the android-sdk and the JDK are still required. From the Android SDK you only need the build tools nothing else, especially not that emulation stuff, thats so big.
The entries and checkboxes for the export means create a container for this type and the name of that container, if you tick off all entries only the main vis gets created.

I couldn't keep the old system because it was incompatible and slow. But it will probably be expanded and better named.

You may need to re-register your version,
    OK. Why not. How?
    maybe delete the viseditor.ini.
I renamed it. BTW: it's a mayhem where Visionaire files are on the disk. There is a second platform-folder (empty) in the user app-data. WTF? I NEVER look into this...
so you need an internet connection.

Too late. So I have to extract and execute this huge Android-monster and search for zipalign in there, and the Java-SDK only has to be installed, right (I did always)? If I found this magical zipalign - what I have to do with it?
if you tick off all entries only the main vis gets created.
The entries are all empty - that's automatically standard by starting the game build menu.

Some good news: I can change the font in the R5 editor and NOW I can read the texts... wink

Since you said it showed "download needed" there is no need to reregister as that works.

The zipalign is in \build-tools\...\zipalign.exe, the system will ask for it while exporting to android.

I'm also having trouble with building for android.

I have the jarsigner & zipalign set correctly, but when the output window opens, it starts to do something and then closes out of Visionaire with no message.

Where is the log output saved?

Note: The build has output stuff to the tmp directory but nothing gets created in the build folder
