Brand new user - can't load images

Hi - I'm a brand new Visionaire user trying to follow some tutorials online, but when I get to loading an image (focusing on the character screen, but seems to be everywhere) it doesn't seem to do anything. I don't get an error message, but I don't see the image load in the preview window as I see in the tutorials. I've tried png, webp, the images straight from some of the sample projects, all without success. I'm guessing I'm missing something very basic, but not sure where to start.

Hi there! All the images on your hard drive that you want to implement in your game need to be in the same folder (on your hd) as the .ved file Visionaire creates, or a subfolder of that folder. Perhaps that is the problem?
