animated sea and waves

i have a scene with a beach ,someone has trying to make 2d animated sea background? i'm in a dead end now my result is shit, i use anime studio , another software may ca do the trick, maybe can i find ressources on the net but it must match with my other graphic, so, any suggestion?

you can do 2D waves, start off with a bunch of lines and let Sqirtz take care of the rest, I did it with a beach scene and it looked ok

(by the way - i got "verve" working, but sadly the hardware of my desktop is not quite up to it, it is lagging a lot)
