Advanced Menu Template

Sorry mate, I have no idea why it's doing that & well I'm not really in the mood to find out. I created that template 2+ years ago. I was intending to create a more up to date one at some point in the future, as VS has changed a lot since then, plus I have developed various new scripts & methods since I created that.

Hi AFRLme! I'm new here and an absolute beginnersmile I've downloaded your awesome Advanced menu and tried to make my own start menu, since I want to do a First Person game, can I delete commands about character or they are strictly related to all the instructions? Because I've deleted something about character and the first animation and now the save game don't work grin
Maybe is because I'm using a free version? Or because I've created a jpg slot without transparency?
Thank you so much for any tips! Have a nice day!

It's more of a reference template to base your own menu on, rather than to place your own things into. That template is from a couple years ago, so certain things / methods may no longer be valid for Visionaire Studio 4.x, as the template was created for 3.7.1.

There always has to be a playable character. It doesn't matter if the character is on the scene or not or if the character has no images / animations linked to it, just as long as there is a character that you have assigned your interfaces to & specified that the character is the playable character via the games properties tabs.

It's more than likely that you have removed or edited something that is required for the game to run.

    1. game needs cursors.
    2. game needs fonts.
    3. game needs a command interface. (linked to playable character).
    4. game needs a playable character.

    I think that's about it.

Thank you so much for your quikly reply.
In order not to make mistakes I worked directly on your template, so it's just a test. I've replaced the cursors, backgrounds, change the resolution to 1024 x 768, moved the objects area, retained the character, fonts and all interfaces, modified the script to align the controls on the options menu. Everything works perfectly except the Save menu. Maybe deleting start menu instructions relating to animation I have done something wrong. Now I refer you with your resolution to see where I was wrong. Thanks a lot

The save slots don't really have anything to do with the scene objects, images or animations. By the way since 4.x, any images or animations placed where save slots are will be displayed on top of the save slot areas you defined. If you want to display an image below it then you need to add the image to the background image itself. If you want to display an animation behind it then you need to crop out the save slot area from the animation or use a different animation for save slots that contain a save thumbnail.
