I highly recommend using the windows app instead of the browser though - more features, & much less system resources required.

Firefox with 2 tabs open is currently using about 400MB + & the discord app is using a little over 100MB.

Don't worry about it mate. Most of the users aren't native English speakers either. If you want to speak to someone in a different language you can send them a private message/direct message - because it's basically a chatroom (consisting of multiple rooms) things would get confusing fast, if people started talking in a bunch of different languages.

Don't care about my memory use - my browser uses 7 GB after an hour session, can't say where it is and why... Only a restart clears the memory.

Discord is like skype but better - also has a nice dark theme.

Sounds like you have a memory leak issue somewhere. On average I use around 400-500MB with firefox, though the amount of tabs you have open will affect how much you are using.

You can always use our discord server to practice your English, if that's something you are interested in. It's a lot more active than the forum, as there's a bunch of regular users posting most days, & we get the odd new user joining every other day or so. Simon & Sebastian are both on there most of the time too.

I use a browser.. it seems fine/fast enough for me.. I didn't see any advantage to the desktop version...

I guess every now and again its do the wheel of death if the server is busy but I'm usually just passing through

this is a Linux laptop, I'm not sure if a  phone will work via the browser?

I don#t bother with mobile phones

Edit: so I need the server adress of the Visionaire group? I can't search for a group. The word "visionaire" or sth like this is unknown...

no idea about .gg, may its just the invite address?

Yeah the link is an invite to the server. I can't have an official link to the server until I can get the server verified, but I can't do that until Thomas releases Oak Island. VS isn't a game publisher & apparently being a game engine isn't enough to get verified, but we can if we have a released commercial game - apparently.

Anyway, if you open up the discord website, & you sign into your account you will see a + button somewhere that you can click on to add a server. paste in the invite link from here & it will automatically add the server to your list.
