Hey everyone, I’m Skyler and I just joined the forum. I’ve been playing Watch Over Christmas steadily for about three months now, and honestly it’s been such a fun ride - the puzzles, the art style, and the whole holiday vibe really pulled me in. But I’ve hit a weird problem that I can’t get past, and it’s basically stopping me from finishing the game.
Here’s what happens: in one of the later chapters, right after solving a multi-step puzzle, the game should normally trigger a cutscene or some dialogue. Instead, my character just freezes in place. The scene stays loaded, music keeps playing, and my cursor still moves around, but nothing is interactive anymore. It’s like the game world turns into a screenshot where I can’t click or trigger anything.
I’m running the game on Windows 11 with no mods or tweaks
Pips NYT, just the default install from Steam. Everything else runs smoothly, so I’m not sure if it’s a scripting issue in that scene or maybe something with my save file.
Has anyone here seen this bug before? Is there maybe a patch, update, or workaround I don’t know about? I’d love to be able to continue, because the story feels like it’s just about to hit its big moment. Any advice would mean a lot.
