You can use as many frames as you want. If you use a few more frames & do not intend to lip sync (somewhat complicated as it requires scripting & phonetic based mouth animations) then a nice simple alternative is just to have it play the frames in random order, which makes it look a little bit more interesting. Something between 3 - 5 frames should be more than enough, but in the end it's up to you.
