Release date for 4.3?

  • #210, by afrlme 9 years ago Zitieren
In future, the bug tracking and fixing process will be transparent? There are lot of bugs reported by the users last year, but in most cases the feedback from the developers is very reserved. Has the bug report reached the responsible persons? Is the bug fixed? And so on... Why you don't use a transparent bug tracking system? So you can avoid double posts of bugs for example, you can give workarounds for existing bugs and so on. I think this is very useful for both sides.
David actually setup a bug tracker on the wiki server. Unfortunately it wasn't opened to the public & also Alex refused to use it.

Maybe Simon would be more willing to use one? The dev tracker should still be on the wiki server. Or there's always github.

The problem of such bug trackers is the need of an additional account for the users in most cases. A possibility could be a "read only" tracker for the users. The users post the bugs in the forum (as until now) and on of the developers register the bug in the system... everybody can see the bugs, the workarounds an the status... but in that case it is hard to discuss a bug...

Sure one built directly into the site would be desired, but I can't see Calli or any of the others going out of their way to code & implement one. Maybe there's a way to tie an existing bug tracking cms into the VS site. I once created a website in which I installed wordpress in the background & used php to read/write information from & to the database it was using.

Will the new version be able to build for Android?

The current version has lost this ability.

Will the new version be able to build for Android?
Yes, sure... this is one of the last missing functions that we are caring about at the moment. smile

We developed an own bug tracker especially for this purpose and we are using it very intensive these days. We also added the known bugs and screenshots there. But it's still a "closed" system, because we cannot allow that user add their bugs and wishes there without caring about structure and logics. wink It can also be very frustrating to see into unsorted lists and thousands of individual wishes. So we will add bugs and wishes manually.

Maybe you will get an insight to the added tickets one day... but we don't have this function yet.

Maybe we will also make our new bugtracker system open for the public - so that you can use it for your own projects. It's a great bug and ticket tracker and a help for anybody who is creating a big game.

The beta version will probably not include an export function and just be there for testing the new editor. But in the final version it will be there.
