Portable Visionaire Studio

  • #1, by LupaShiva 10 months ago Zitieren
    Hello everyone

One question, can visionaire studio be installed on a portable usb pen drive? Was thinking if i could work on several computers using visionaire in a pen, would the pen need to be empty, only used for visionaire and the project? When building the game, the exe file, would it create problems?

    Thanks a lot

You can install it on a pen drive, you maybe need to install the c++ redistributable, but most computers have it already. But I don't know if that's worth the hassle. Only thing that is not portable are your settings and which key is entered, that gets saved in the user profile.

I've never tried installing Visionaire Studio directly on a USB drive, but I think it could work if you set it up as a portable app. You'd need to install it on the drive and make sure all the project files and assets are stored there too. The drive doesn't have to be empty, but I'd keep it dedicated to Visionaire and your project just to avoid clutter and potential file conflicts. As for building the game, the .exe should compile fine as long as the paths to your assets are relative and everything's on the drive.

You can run Visionaire Studio off a USB, but it’s not plug-and-play. Use a portable app setup, keep enough space, and maybe dedicate the drive to avoid hiccups. Building .exes should be fine if paths are set right. Get a fast USB to avoid lag, and ensure the PC has the right Visual Studio runtimes. Hit me up if you get stuck!
