Object position

Hey. If I want my character interact with an object from where he stands, I should just set Object position to -1, -1, right? But then nothing happens. When I put x and y to some point, he walks to that point and the interacts with that point. What am I doing wrong?

create an execute command (immediate) type action on the object & it will ignore the object position & immediately execute the listed action parts (don't forget to wrap them in begin/end cutscene or hide/show cursor action parts).
