The plugin adds an action part "mask object/character with object", that's all that happens.

    Ah, thanks.

I tried it and it works well... but i would like to do it the other way. I try to mask the objekt area and not the picture itself. is there any soulution for this? Can i define the active area of a character somehow?

I tried to do all actions in an other objekt but it seems the character action area is always on top of it....

    Thanks!

I'm trying out the masking plugin and just have one question.

If I'm trying to mask a character.
Lets say, I need a character walking from one side of the scene, a bit dark, to the other side, more bright. Like walking out of the shadow of the tree.

I created a mask with dark transparency with the same dimensions as my scene and I mask my character with it.

Is it supposed to add an extra layer (in my case the "dark transparent .PNG") to a character or swap the complete character outfit with the mask?

Because in my case, the characters outfit is dissapeared only I see the silhouette created by the masking. Looks like a ghost walking around now.

But I need the mask on top of the character. Not replace.

May be what I want to create should be achieved by another way?

    OK, its two questions now.

    Thanks in advance!

If you are talking about tinting the character then you need to use lightmaps. A light map is basically an image containing different colors/tints which you can assign to the scene via the scene properties - you can also change them out/set them with an action part. The lightmap is used to determine what color to tint your characters based on their positions in the scene.

Quick note: the lightmap doesn't have to be the same size as the scene, it can be 1/4 of the size as it will automatically scale up to the scene size - just for optimization reasons.

In regards to the masking system, that's mostly for showing/cutting out certain parts of images/animations - & even in-scene videos with a bit of trickery.

Thank you SO MUCH afrlme!! Again!

This really worked for me and had no idea it was under the Lightmap what I was looking.

I'm still learning to use Visionaire Studio and getting to know its full potential.

Very grateful for this forum here!!
