    we use the own font and not TTF font, see image attached.

    Ok, i can have a look at this today with the fonts. Hm... Nur sure, why it does not work.
    @Simon_ASA: Start the player @ Linux manually. In the terminal he see what exactly was missing. I've testet it on Debian wheezy and Ubuntu 12.04.4 (LTS) and Ubuntu 14.04 (LTS) and SteamOS.

    Hi guys,

    There is nothing working on Linux for the issue explained previously, unfortunatley roll
    Whatever we try, the text still doesn't appear. The person already has OpenGL & OpenAL in the good versions, and his Linux system looks good (Mint 17).
    Do you have new ideas? Something we should ask him to install maybe?

    Also, I have received another message from another person, with another problem. This time it happens on Mac:

    When I start ASA everything works just fine. ie. the menus (load, options). But when I hit "new" the game crashes and says "Visionaire quite unexpectedly".

    Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3
    Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
    Software OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)


    The game usually works fine on Mac, it is the first time I receive a report about such a crash. In my opinion, it seems that his Mac cannot read the introduction video. When the player hits "New", the game starts directly the video. Would it help to install the video codecs? The videos are MKV with the theora codec.

    I hope someone can help. Thank you!

    Next build. You can change to the mov-codec, but that is only licensed on Mac. Updating to 10.9 also fixes that problem, but I know there are some, who would rather wait for a bugfix than update.

    Thanks Simon. Unfortunately there are other people with Mac issues, and it is not related to the videos. If we take the case of the following user, he has OS 10.10 but he cannot run the game.

    Tip: Still use VP8 with MKV containers for Videos.
    And the crash looks like it comes from the steam overlay.

    openGL was already installed if they have native GPU drivers.
    apt-get install libopenal1
    

    install's openAL, if not installed.
    If they have problems, then i need the output of the console. (manually start with terminal).

    Yes all the videos are VP8/MKV already, no problem here/

    And the crash looks like it comes from the steam overlay.

    I don't know. We have no overlay in Steam: the game was uploaded "as is". No DRM, no achievements, nothing added. It's exactly the same game.

    install's openAL, if not installed.

    I will ask them, but I think they gave up with the game.

    Also, it would seem that installing 32 bits libraries on their 64 bits system could solve their problem, but they don't want to.

    Hi,

    Linux and OSX was an completely 64 Bit player, so using 64 Bit was right.
    Think i must try it too with Mint.

    Hm… But the Steam Client try to hook with the player. You can see it here:
    SteamCGLFlushDrawable, gameoverlayrenderer.dylb, …
    The Steam Client tries every time to hook with the Steam Overlay. Try to start the game manually here:
    open ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/SteamApps/common
    

    Or go to -> Preferences -> In game -> Disable Steam Overlay.
    I think then it starts. If it was this issue, try to add the latest steam_api.dylib in the game.app/Contents/MacOS directory (where the binary is located)
    Then re-enable the overlay in the client.
