Items drag/check (BS interface)

    First time using drag and drop since I have now created single click interface with changing cursor. I've set a mouse interface (left_click) and assigned a basic cursor selecting items can be dragged with this command.

    In global menu set Allow dragging of items from inventory. I have no main interface, my interface is actually the inventory (at bottom with slide in/out).

    I've searched in forum and I know the built in system is not the best for dragging of items. The basic problem I have now is that with left click on items they don't drag at all. I've used item dropped on items actions and item dropped on objects action but the cursor don't even change to the item image when I left click on the inventory.

    Then I see I have probably to use a system that check if the cursor is item or standard cursor when going to each hotspots.

    A'llo, can you please post some screenshots of how you have setup your interface containing the command(s) & inventory related stuff?

    Here it is, hope it's clear. Also I'm going to buy the indie license (single user) what's the meaning of html5 platform file, mac platform file etc etc, I'm using Windows at the moment, for publishing on Mac I need to use Visionaire on a Mac or I can export from Windows also?

    It's pretty weird, now is working. I have to reset, quit and reload and then stuff begins to work properly. Anyway now I must have put some wrong actions because it doesn't execute actions at destination. The right click reset cursor with item drag is working.

    I have to use item dropped (immediate execution) with send characther to object and align thing (optional) little bit mechanical but is working now.

    item dropped with execute at destination should work. the objects interaction position needs to be specified in the properties section for each object, & the position needs to be inside of the way system border otherwise the playable character can't reach the position, which means that it won't ever execute the actions.

    You can publish for windows, mac, linux, & html5 with the indie (single/multi-user) license. You don't need a mac to export for mac - though it's recommended. If you export for mac via a windows machine, make sure you don't open up the file it generates, on your windows machine as it will likely corrupt it. It looks like a zip/rar file on windows, but it's not. Just zip/rar it up or upload as it is as it's a dmg file which is like an ISO image file.

    I would recommend looking into the basic version of the mac mini (one without all the bells & whistles) if you ever have some spare cash floating around. I think they cost around €400-€500 - less if you look for refurbished ones. Those things aren't super powerful, but they are more than powerful enough for developing & playing Visionaire made games.

    I don't know about exporting for Linux as I'm not a fan of it & don't have it installed on my pc or laptop.

    There's some information here about exporting for different platforms.

    One last thing... in regards to html5, you can distribute html5 games as freeware, or with ad-based monetization, or you can distribute to Patrons/Pledges via self-crowdfunding/support sites like Patreon. To actually sell the rights for an html5 game to a publisher or company, such as Facebook, then you will need to purchase a professional license (which is a per game/title, but doesn't need to be acquired until needed).

    Linux wasn't plain sailing last time I tried, several libraries conflicted and read/write issues
    I haven't tried with the current release though so maybe its ok now
    It did work but it required a little bit of love
