Autosave not working at beginning of scene

Could someone please help me out of my misery, or at least give me ideas where to look to solve a strange little problem?

I've got an autosave in the 'At beginning of scene' action of one of my scenes. Execute autosave #0 - straight forward. However, it just does nothing. All other action parts for the scene beginning work, but not the autosave.

I set the exact same command to a key (1: Execute autosave #0) and it works perfectly.

Any ideas why this would be happening or where I can look to fix it?

are there any errors listed in the messages.txt (or messages.log) file?

are you trying to execute it during a cut-scene or something? some more details would be appreciated please! wink

I checked the log file and there's no errors of any kind listed.

I suspected that a cutscene might be the issue and as such moved it to a section that is completely devoid of any funny stuff. It's at the start of a scene, following a standard transition, first action part listed in the 'At beginning of scene' action.

I'm trying to establish an autosave for new game "contition resetting" but I can't get it to save. I've also removed any checking for existence of autosaves -- I'm just calling Execute autosave #0 straight.

I can't really be more specific, as it isn't really in a fancy place in the structure. grin

should work... try adding a small pause action (maybe 50 or 100ms) before the exec autosave action part.

Legend! That did the trick. Thanks.

Maybe one day I'll also master the art of tricking VS into doing what I want it to. wink

It's not possible to save while there is a fade active. That has a strutural reason. So must wait at least the delay you have set at game options.
