    Hello, divas1980

I don't know what ASSIMP or cube.x is, but I think you want to use an original 3D-file? Can Visionaire 4.0 work with some 3D formats now? Whow, that would be great (workflows often use fbx or similar to interchange.). Usually you have to render your 3D-character into a png-file to put into Visionaire. You want to know how to do this?

Um yeah 4.0 has 3D character support now. Have you not tried out the freeware version? It's very beta at the minute though. Hit & miss with a lot of 3D formats.

Unfortunally I have an extremely slow connection this time (56k), so downloading the new version isn't really funny and takes five or six hours... :-( I'm waiting for better times... :-)

USB pendrive, a friends house, internet cafe, or steal the next door neighbours wifi - job done! wink

56k though? Mind you I had worse than that about 6 years back or something. Because of where we live, we have a very limited choice in internet. Radio Phone, dongle or DSL. It took us 3 years to get telefonica to come fit us a radio phone thing. It was worse than dial up & that was when it actually bothered to work razz

I'm only on 3mb connection now with DSL but it costs more than a 20mb+ fiber optic/broadband connection would cost in more civilized parts of Spain.

No, it's a USB surfstick, but the provider decreases the speed down to 50kB as he like it. This year it's worse! Last year the connection was very fast.
But... don't laugh: I have a modem too and it works FASTER and SAVER than the surfstick (without breaks), but I have to pay per minute... that's expensive.

Yes, of course I can do something, but I'm lucky with my Visionaire 3 I try out for two weeks now....

PS: I should train English grammar. That's all the German inside... ;-)

Ah yeah the dongles... we tried one of them & it was I think 8mb connection but they have limited bandwidth & even if you turn it on & don't actually download or browse internet it still eats away your bandwidth limit. & because of the 8mb speed you end up burning through the 2-5GB bandwidth limit for the month in a day or 2 before you get limited to dial up speed connection for the rest of the month razz

    Ah, a fellow-sufferer (... from German-English dictionary :-)

to divas1980: maybe you check the normals (correct direction), the direction of the coordinates (my Cinema4D f.e. has an inverted z-axis not similar to some CAD-tools, some programs use a y-axis down instead of up) and if mesh is always closed without free points or something like that. I think it's important to use the correct polygons Visionaire want to have, maybe triangles???? But - of course - I have to install V 4.0 first to check for myself before I can give a hint.... ;-)

x format from Blender works but the object is flipped, I haven't managed to get animation from C4D, GameSpace works but no named animation tracks, Maybe Fragmotion or MilkShape would be better options
I don't have Max or Maya

Is the .x format working okay on the Mac version?

Its a shame that it doesn't seem to support fbx format. FBX format can incorporate a lot of media types (despite it being proprietary, a lot more seems to be happening there than COLLADA).

My company gives away a free modeller called Shade 3D for Unity. You can grab the Windows version from our store on miryestore.com or the Mac OS X version through the Mac App Store. It supports a couple of formats but its a bit more focused on .fbx, embedding fbx animation, etc.
