Mein angedachtes Spiel vom Mai 2014 ist für eine Demo leider ungeeignet.

Es verbraucht einfach zuviel Zeit, GLEICH in Englisch zu arbeiten. Dann lieber den ganzen Schwung jemandem zum Übersetzen geben.

Hatte mal testweise einige meiner Dialoge übersetzt: Dauer 6 Stunden für etwa eine A4-Seite in 10 Punkt und Lachkrampf bei native Speakern.
Ich verstehe englische/amerikanische Filme ohne Untertitel auch heute noch nicht. UT und Sprechtext liegen Welten auseinander.

Das überstehende Wettbewerbsthema ist übrigens "LERNEN"! Ich denke in diesem Themenbereich solle es viele interessante Gestaltungsansätze geben.

habe noch eine Frage zum Video-Codec.

Mein PremierePro CS3, das ich zum Filmerstellen benutze, kann nur folgende Formate:

• Adobe Flash Video (FLV)
• Animierte GIF-Datei (GIF) (nur Windows)
• H.264 (3GP, MP4)
• H.264 Blu-Ray (M4v)
• Microsoft AVI und DV AVI (nur Windows)
• MPEG1 (nur Windows)
• MPEG1 VCD (nur Windows)
• MPEG2
• MPEG2 Blu-Ray
• MPEG2 Disc
• MPEG2 SVCD (nur Windows)
• QuickTime (MOV) (unter Windows Installation von QuickTime erforderlich)
• RealMedia (RMVB) (nur Windows)
• Uncompressed Microsoft AVI (nur Windows)
• Windows Media Video (WMV) (nur Windows)

VP8 oder mkv ist nicht dabei. Ich habe meine Filme für Visionaire als Avi angelegt (üblicherweise bevorzuge ich QT-mov) , es klappte mit H.264 ganz gut.

Was muss ich tun, damit ich Filme konform einbetten kann? NOCH MEHR Codecs (es ist eine Liste von 30 im Systemmanager, die sich auch gegenseitig beißen...) wollte ich eigentlich nicht installieren, weil sämtliche Player und Schnittprogramme gerade gut laufen.
Wenn ich mov oder avi in mkv umwandle (z.B. mit "super" oder anderen Tools): woher weiß ich, welcher Codec im mkv-Container am Ende drin ist?

You can always reconvert with another video editing/conversion program afterwards if the video editing/3d software you currently use does not have export options for mkv etc. I believe there are links on the video conversion wiki page for free video converters that have mkv support.

In this case I prefer to export whole frames and convert it only once into compressed mkv. Thx.

mkv editor like MKVToolNix

I put the subtitles (if necessary) in the film (Normally I use two film versions, in German and English). So I don't need this subtitle editor and the mkv editor?

what? I've no idea. The reason for using mkv is because it's the format we support the most & also it's open source; meaning no licenses are required to use it commercially.

Whether you use separate videos for different languages is up to you... although I believe you can embed both multiple sound & subtitle languages into .mkv videos (not 100% certain on audio).

Since v4.0 we allow you to define text & audio languages independently in VS. It means that you could allow the player to play with x audio language while using a different language for the text/subtitles.

You'll have to ask David (BigStans) about that. He wrote the page ages ago. I'm not very savvy when it comes to video editing, compiling or conversion. I'm more of an audio person.

ffmpeg looks strange on the command line, but the bitrate examples from the wiki are an very good reference for an high quality encoding without stuttering on an old or mobile device with 720p.

You can use an ffmpeg GUI like http://qwinff.github.io for windows or http://www.iffmpeg.com for Mac OS to create an VP8 or VP9 file (webM Video with Vorbis audio) muxed in an MKV container too.
In an mkv container you can use different audio channels and different subtitles (ASS) for an any language. We support it since 3.7.1 i think.

Most players like VLC, mplayer or XBMC uses ffmpeg to play, convert… do much more things with it
