Type over selection in code window jumps cursor to start of script

If I select some text (like a variable name) in the script editor window, then start typing a new name, the first character types over the selection, then the rest of the characters start typing at the beginning (top left) of the script. the text cursor just suddenly jumps up there when typing over.

In general it would be really helpful if the code editor had some other simple features, like correct indentation and function closing etc.

Or a simple check box that says, link external script, (and a browse dialog) so we can easily edit and write our scripts in our chosen editor.
(rather than the complex method ive seen on the forums)

I use Sublime Text - it's similar to notepad++ as they are both based on scintilla but it's far superior to notepad++ - having said that it's not free but it has an unlimited try before you buy trial which has all the same features as a licensed version.

The script/text editor in Visionaire Studio 3.7.1 is very buggy. The upcoming release of Visionaire Studio features a new text editor based on Scintilla source code & thus is a lot better than current version as it comes with colored syntax highlighting & you can minimize/maximize code blocks (if, functions etc)... I believe ultimately the goal is to add auto-complete & various other features such as find & replace, multi-line editing etc...

no, just sometime in Q1. I believe they are just tying up loose ends & fixing bugs at the minute. Alex could provide a more accurate date but he will probably just say sometime in Q1. He's often pretty vague in his posts/replies. wink

So by the image they are going straight to version 4?
Oh well I wont be paying again, I've waited over 3 years for features, fixes, messed up projects because of backward compatibility issues, I'm done :/

actually, nigec, i dont really understand your point of view. this engine is given completeley for free for programming and the version to build the game is 35€. That really is nothing in comparison to other programs, that dont have half as good the support, that is given here.
