Simulate mouse wheel click on MacBook for panning in scene editor?

With a mouse it is possible to pan the scene in editor with a mouse wheel click. Anybody an idea how I can pan a scene with a MacBook with touchpad? Can I use a key combination + finger slide? Thanks!

Not currently to my knowledge. I'm hoping Simon will add something like Adobe Photoshop Hand tool or something. Maybe he could add it as a toolbar option or as a keyboard shortcut that you can hold to enable hand tool while mouse is hovering over the scene preview window. Would be really nice.
