Hmm nope. There's a little bit of information about the dialog system on the old 2d wiki @ http://wiki.visionaire2d.net/index.php?title=Characters
The basic idea is that you should create the dialog gui / area inside of your playable characters dialog area tab. Don't forget to assign fonts & mouse cursors inside of the properties tab of your playable character.
For the dialogs themselves, you should create each dialog inside of the dialog tab of the NPC character you intend to speak with. Then just call the dialogs in game as needed with the start dialog action part.
