Chosing Animations within a 3d Model as character

Hello guys and girls, its me again! smile

At the moment i'm trying to check the possibilities in using a 3D-Model as character. I have loaded different types of 3D-Models such as .dae and .directx. The model itself moves fine and everything is okay. But then i tried to load a model with different animations into visionaire but i have not seen any option to "trigger" different animations such as the standard walking-animation. I think there should be a menu or something where i can specify when and where different animations should be played, or am i wrong? When it comes to creating and converting, i followed all availiable tutorials and everything looked fine. Maybe someone knows more about that than me.

I recommend talking to AkcayKaraazmak. He's the only member on here I know that is currently successfully using the 3D character system.

I believe .x format is the most supported format for 3D models in Visionaire Studio, but don't take my word for it as I have very little knowledge or understanding of 3D in general; let alone 3D in Visionaire Studio.

    Hi there,

Did you give names for the animations when exporting from your 3d software?
For example; walk: 0-100 take: 110-150 etc...

In VS, creat some animation names in the "character animations" section in outfits.

For example; add an animation and call it "take" and in its properties, click the 3d Model Animation drop-down menu and you should see the names of your animations. Select the animation for take and thats it.

BUT, there is a bug with 3d system in VS. When ever you choose to use one of the animations except walk & idle, engine plays those animations in a loop. To stop that animation you should make the character walk. I couldnt solve this issue.

Also it sometimes plays the animations and sometimes not :\

So from stability reasons, you would recommend to stay 2D?

I dont like working with 2d characters because my game scenes have many different cam angles, to work with these scenes I need to render tons of animations. Also you can't rotate the characters when u use 2d, I mean at least for now. You can check my game demo and see the result that I came up with. http://thedarkinside.me/download.html
