*gelöst* Widescreen Resolution / Auflösung

    Hallo zusammen,

Was sind Eure Tipps?

    Hi there,

is it right, that 1920x1080 is the only widescreen resolution in visionaire? I'd like to create a game that's widescreen but low res. Plum did a good job on that. What are your suggestions?

apart from 1024x768 which would be widescreen res for a small laptop/netbook?

--------- By using the Visionaire Studios "Explorer" it's possible to set a different native resolution for the project file. The resolutions in the dropdown box of the game settings tab are just some popular choices.

If FullHD isn't the right one for you because you're aiming for a pixel style or something like that you can set another widescreen resolution in the game' property. I.e. 1920x1080, 1366x768, 1280x720, 1024x576, 854x480, 640x360 or 320x180.

    1920x1080 works/looks fine on my 1280x800 laptop with resolution=auto.

you'd end up with same problem reversed by using low resolution.

I think resolution you need to use is based on the type of game you're making & what style of art.

pixelart = lower res | hand drawn/hd = higher res | no idea about 2.5D/3D.

*** as mowren said you can enter a custom resolution other than the default resolutions via the explorer "ctrl+e" > eGame > + > GameWindowResolution.

    in v.s ... extras > options > player ...

check fullscreen on & if needed widescreen support which is the equivalent of "Resolution=Auto" in a config.ini settings file - this will automatically scale the game to your resolution when in fullscreen mode.

a default lower resolution in v.s will make things look zoomed in/cropped on a larger res computer/laptop & a higher default res will look smaller on a smaller res computer/laptop.

    just how it is smile

P.S if you don't turn on widescreen support you would need to enable scroll scene when cursor on edge as the screen will be cropped into which wouldn't be much good for say a menu or something that is made to the default resolution you have used.
