Hast du schon mal AnimeStudio (jetzt MOHO) probiert?

Don't forget OpenToonz that came out only recently and is free (and open source)!
A bit too strange for my taste (I'm used to timelines like Flash/MOHO), but hey, it's what studio Ghibli uses; so this at least shows what it can do!

There is also DragonBones which I am using at the moment. It has a very handy function that can convert pngs (or bitmaps...) to meshes, so you don't have to cut your character into too many pieces. And it's free.

I didn't know OpenToonz, but will look at it - downloading now...

Hah! thanks Esmeralda! I didn't know DragonBones! I have Spriter Pro and have used Spine; Spine was very polished and a joy to work with but the pricetag? ouch... Spriter is very affordable and feature packed, but not very... pleasant.
DragonBones looks promising! I'm downloading it as we speak too :-)

Thanks for the many program examples. When I first heard of OpenToomz, it was not yet downloadable. Now I try it out. Quitting me, of course, the fact that the manuals are in Japanese ... I hope the program interface is after all in English ????

I use 3D programs for animating and rendering, but this is handy for the characters (if rig and mesh are first, you can do everything quickly), but extensively for the scenes. Because I have to model EVERYTHING so that the style is the same. Since drawing would be faster overall.

In Cinema there is "Sketch and Toon", but with it I can change the graphics style - the objects, etc. I still have to tinker. Drawing objects and sketch objects ALWAYS look different...

That would be the most time for me. The animated loops are then only 40% of the time. Scenes modeling: 60%. And later the game to test errors: again 100% ... wink

So I'm looking for something for 2 D. Otherwise I would do it with pen and paper and then scan ...

Ganz ehrlich?

Edit: Oh, we started with Englisch Language! :o
I didn't read everything, but I would like to take part in this discussion again; I think for this topic there is never enough said. wink

I'll try Spine for our purposes; my Background-Artist is creating that detailed backgrounds, my figures are unpleasant in comparison. (Just click somewhere in the middle of the video. Look at the main character; even if I would correct the lineart and would add shadow, the contrast between the styles is too heavy...)

I hope that I can add more graphic-detail to my characters when I'm going to animate with spine than I could with classic animation... I always thought this kind of animation would always look odd, but then I saw this video :O :O :O
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twUz99ek5do

Stop watching her bouncing Boobs! ;D

I mean, this was a detailed picture, and in the end it even has a 3D-feeling! Sure, as beginners we should not expect such results, but this kind of animation has more potential than I ever thought.
But the 3D-Effect is only possible with the Pro-Version.

This 3d effect is achieved by mesh deformation. Only available in pro version, https://en.esotericsoftware.com/spine-purchase

Yes I know, but overall the animation looks more pleasant than I ever expected of Character Rigged Animations.

    Thanks for english translation smile
I like your WIP videos btw, nice animation, I can only dream of such level smile)
There was music in one of your videos - every time I watch it, it loops a couple days after in my head. Pretty motivational, though.

Stimmt schon.

Toonz starts, but I don't know how I can work with it. I need a manual. Mäh...
