^__ Some animation tests of Captain Maracheck in his 'default' clothing. Since the tests, he has lost the computer on his arm. He will keep that device in the game to communicate with computers on The Groomlake, but his outfit will that of full salvage gear, and not this more 'casual' clothing.

aeyol, Ive heard of Sanitarium, but never played it. Ill take a look around eBay or some bargain bins and see if I can pick it up. grin

selmiak, Thanks mate. I need all the luck I can get!

Watching your animations, I come to the conclusion that you must have done this 3D stuff before... wink Very realistic.

This is gonna be a commercial game, isn't it?

Thanks man. smile Yes, I'm a professional 3D artist by trade. Luckily I get to do my hobby for a career. grin

Na-I have no plans to release the game commercially. It will be 100% free to download. smile

Some updated screens for you guys. wink

Here is the elevator control menu (which I spent the weekend setting up). When you hover over the buttons, the screen comes up with the information about each floor, and clicking on the button takes you to that floor (kinda obvious, i know. wink ) Something I have had a bit of difficulty with is actually having the elevator door open when the character gets in, and close when he gets out. I got it working, but then the elevator stays OPEN when he returns to the floor (when it should be closed). I think its cos Visionaire keeps the level in the same state it was when you left it last, so that any changes you make still reflect when you return to the scene. Gonna give the values a try to get around this, or just try more tweaking. wink

Second screen is from the living quarters on the Hawking. I wanted a nice small comfy area. Its still a work in progress, and will change with the puzzles (adding items, accesable work bench, etc). Im wondering if its a good idea to be able to interact with the toilet. grin

Got the elevators working perfectly. Now you can INTERACT with the elevator, it opens, you walk in, choose you floor, it moves to the floor, the door opens, and you walk out, with the door closing behind you.

Probably simple to the veterans here, but for a new user, its pretty damned cool! wink

Next I need to figure out how to create a working radio. that you can tune into different channels. Fun fun! wink

No need to hunt down Sanitarium on eBay...the website GoG.com has it available as a download for ten bucks. Worth it. It's not the game I thought it would be (I thought it was more of a Myst or Blackstone Chronicles adventure horror type of game and not an isometric classic adventure with some minor horror elements), but it was fun. There ARE some 'pixel hunt' issues, though...I had explored a map top to bottom at one point and couldn't figure out how to go further, and the hint guide I eventually resorted to didn't have me kicking myself since the answer was in a spot I know I had moused over several times, just not in THAT one spot.

But I like the look of the game...very haunting. And if you need voice work at some point down the road, I'd love to help. Story work and voice acting I love...it's all the practical programming and art aspects I have trouble with.

Started playing around with some ideas for Marachecks salvage suit. Is has to be able to survive in space, and in some rather harsh conditions on the ship...so its like a streamlined space suit, crossed with a diving suit, with some military 'feel' for good measure. grin

Also Work In Progress shots of the cargo bay and airlock area, and the elevator control panel. smile

The next game on my list is FALLOUT New Vegas, but after I'm sure ill be in the mood for some retro gaming. Ive got Sanitarium on the top of that list. grin "But I like the look of the game...very haunting. And if you need voice work at some point down the road, I'd love to help. Story work and voice acting I love...it's all the practical programming and art aspects I have trouble with." Ill definitely be taking you up on that! I'm just doing quick scratch voices with my own voice, but getting some different voices in (that aren't mine!) is something I wanna get to when I'm further in production.
