Single or Multi licence?

Hello everyone, I registered to this forum, because I've got one question about licence of Visionaire Studio, but I couldn't find any answer. Let's say me and one friend have decided to create a game. I would work in my home and he would work in his. So, what licence should we buy? One copy of INDIE MULTI USER, two copies of INDIE SINGLE USER or two copies of INDIE MULTI USER? I am not sure about this and I hope someone tell me what I should do.

Yeah, the multi-user license could really do with a clearer explanation. The multi-user license really covers one location / one machine (whatever). If you are working from different locations then a single license for you & a single for them will suffice.

I didn't see it like that. I think that only one multi-user license is required in your case :

    License 1 - INDIE SINGLE USER (49€)

    • If the product is used by multiple developers of your team then you need to purchase a multi-user license for 99€.

    and

    License 2 - INDIE MULTI USER (99€)

    • The product may be used by multiple developers of your team.

This is how I interpret, but I may be wrong... roll

This is where it wasn't clearly defined. What does "of your team" mean? Are they all located in the same building? the same room? the same computer? multiple computers? spread out all over the world?

What if one of the team members leaves your team & want to make their own game? Or make a game themselves that is not affiliated with your team while they are still in the process of developing your game. Does the license you bought for your team mean they can still use that licensed version of Visionaire Studio to make their own game?

The thing is that both myself & Thomas & the other devs forgot to clearly specify exactly what, who & how the multi-user license can be used by / for. I think the next time the licenses are revised, it is something that should be addressed.

Personally I think indie single licenses are better if your team is spread out all over the world, as you are covered better & each individual can work on both team projects & solo projects, if they so desire.

How about just combining single and multi? lol

It's better make a 'company or business' license instead.
