    Hi everyone !

I'm about to release very soon a retro music pack for adventure games in pixel arts. I would be extremely grateful if some of you could give me some feedback before the release smile

I composed this music pack for devs on a budget who need a couple of tracks for their game (i.e for a 1st game or game jam...). There would be also a light version of this pack that I would share for free.

The full pack would contain more than 100 music files in tracks, seamless loops, alternative versions and 6 bonus jingles (for short intros, logo presentations...) There would be different moods (jazzy, medieval, atmospheric, upbeat, horror and more), at various bpm.

For the music to sound "era genuine" and be representative of the early 90's (DOS games), there would be for each track a Roland MT-32 and an Adlib/Soundblaster (OPL) version (that may sounds familiar if you played Lucy Dreaming smile

So basically, there would be for each track:

main version (fading out), alternative version (fading out), main loop, alternative loop, all in MT32 and Adlib MIDI style

So that would be 8 files / track total. + 6 bonus jingle (both in MT32 and Adlib versions as well)

Here's a private link where you can listen to the music (please do not share, as it still is work in progress). It contains all the MT32 versions (main and alternative versions) of the full pack, + 6 bonus jingles.

    ->

Do you think there are enough tracks in this pack, in terms of quantity, moods and different music styles to be interesting enough and useful ?
What do you think of the alternative versions? Do it looks like an useful feature? I'm thinking it adds more room for customization and flexibility but maybe it's just completely overkill..?
About the pricing, I was thinking about something around 20€. Note that there would be also a free version of this pack (one track of each mood (both MT32 and AdLib but only the fade out versions), + 1 jingle)
Does the pricing seems reasonable to you?
Music pack should be available in gamedevmarket, itch.io and unity. Would you have other suggestions?

Thank you ! To any of you helping me with some insightful feedback, I would be glad to offer a couple of free tracks of their choices from the pack. Just PM me if you're interested wink

    Cheers

Yes, there seem to be quite a number of tracks with a variety of moods and styles. The Raggae Island tracks are my favourites.

If the main loops and the the alternative versions can be played seamlessly, one after another, that would create variation for the player.

It seems pricey for a newbie developer but good for a serious developer who can use the tracks in multiple projects.

Maybe also consider Game Maker Studio asset store and also Construct asset store.

Glad you might find the pack useful for your project Denis smile

I just finished the pack, I'm wrapping everything up and will upload it soon. Should be available tonight or tomorrow if everything runs smoothly from there wink
