Hello guys, I read today a news on PC gamer about the Russian developer of Warcraft's canceled adventure, releasing the playable game. I downloaded it and it is real and it works quite well (at least on windows 7), it's quite interesting really smile.

You can read about it here and find the download link here: http://www.pcgamer.com/warcraft-adventures-download/?utm_con...

Does look really nice. Shame most if not all p+c developers ended up jumping on the awful 3D wagon because the large majority of the 3D p+c games looked like shit - yes I'm looking at you! Simon 3D! grin

It already has so much detail and i love the hand drawn animations (i'm not a fan of skeleton animations, but i understand why people use them wink).
Too bad that they never finished it roll

On windows you have to set it up with Windows 2000 compatibility, if Wine supports or has those options you can try setting it up like that and see if it works.

yeah its possible in wine to set the Os-compatibility. Tried everything but it fails with a dll-error (from the game itself: w4/freewalk.dll).

if you look on the forum in the link, there's a fixed version and that worked on Windows 10, its called
Warcraft Adventures 1.0 Fixed - Repack by IllidanS4

You do realize this is dodgy as hell and the makers asked it to be removed..

However I jump on it when Glen did so I got it and finished it.. my theory to why it wasn't finished is... its to easy, its way to logical, feck I finished it with out cheating, trust me this is a first..
Its all there playable to the end
Don't go to desktop, the hotspots seem to move slightly and don't respond, you can get stuck in a dialog and can't reach the exit line.. but you just have to go through the lot

It was on the forum linked in the article, but the original upload was removed by request or something. I think someone else posted another link a few pages into the thread, but no idea if it's still there.

Ah just looked. Check the final page (5) of the thread. There's a new version out (1.1).

Apparently version 1 and 1.1 include an extractor so you can see all images and backgrounds and stuff, quite interesting to see the assets hehe.
