Just thought I'd start a thread for my current project. "Patrol Quest I - Joe Snuffy and the Radar-Trailer Scandal" Its a police game, but with more of a Space Quest feel. Let me know what you think.

Thank you! I'm drawing characters in Illustrator, and rigging/animating them in Smith Micro's Anime Studio Pro, which has a great bone-mechanic system for 2D artwork. The webpage for Anime Studio is posted below if anyone's interested. Backgrounds are modeled (very basically) in a cheap 3D program, rendered primarily for lighting and perspective, then painted over with Photoshop.

Here's an example of the background render compared to final image:

I'm running a rather dated version of Cinema 4D which I was able to get at a student rate several years back. But such a simple scene can be managed in even the free modelers. Basic scene with primitive objects (boxes and cylinders) with a light source. Turn on ambient occlusion for nice self-shadowing and global illumination for a smoother light distribution.

funny but true, I've just been messing with C4D over the last 4 days, usually I use Sketchup and Blender, the compositor is pretty awesome in the new Blender I like Sketchup but you need an external renderer, most tend to be photoreal and its mentally hard to get them to render something cartoonie and be consistant I like C4D, shame its wayyyyyyyyy out of my price range lol

Dunno why but it reminds me of southpark smile maybe because of those eyes. But that's a good thing! The game has style and looks promising. congratulations on animating the cutscenes. The only thing I might encourage you to do is to make the interface sphere smaller. It makes me wanna move it away and see what's under it. That means it's way too big smile
