Game crash windows 7 64bit

HI,

My game keeps crashing on my friends desktop. He is running windows 7 64bit
- CPU: 2.8GHz Intel Core
- RAM: 4GB
- Video Card: GeForce GTS 240
- HDD: 450 GB free disk space

Any idea why it might be crashing?

can you reproduce any crashes? are there entries in the log files? I assume the video card has 512MB or 1GB of graphics memory, right? since there is lots of RAM and probably no shared memory for the graphics I don't think this is a memory issue. Is the graphics display driver up-to-date? It would help if you could track down the issue where exactly its crashing. If its just random crashes it will be difficult.

He tells me that it is crashing when ever he loads a saved game.

Is it a specific save game or does it crash also for new savegames? Did you try his savegame(s)? are they crashing on your machine as well?

Its any time you tries to load a save game. he has tried different saves and it crashes every time. I have had no problems with crashes on my machine.

I wonder if its something to do with UAC? Maybe ask him to start the game as an admin and see if that works.
I only have Win7 32 and UAC is off

I'm also using Win7 64bit so it's not an OS issue. The hardware looks also fine to me.
Have you tried his savegame on your machine? Have you set the game and company name in the game properties? If this is set there will be no problems with UAC because savegames are stored in the local application folder.

I needed to set the company and game names.
